The Forest Glen Area
Forest Glen is located on the Sunshine Coast Queensland just off the M1 Bruce Highway in the foothills of Buderim. Driving north from Brisbane you will exit to Forest Glen on Exit 200, if travelling south from Gympie it is also Exit 200.
Forest Glen is a quaint little village, which is making a real name for itself for foodie businesses such as Jampa’s – Spirit of Tibet with his flavoursome Tibetan Curries, 98 fish with is Fresh Seafood and sensational Takeaway Fish & Chips, Crunch that specialises in South African products, Famous Forest Glen Bakery with their fantastic coffee, cakes and pies and of course Australia’s largest organic foodstore – Kunara Organic Marketplace & Cafe & their next door neighbour, Sunshine Coast Organic Meats. There are also shops such as The Patchwork Angel which you can be find in the old church & Sinerji Boutique offering ethical, sustainable fashionable clothing made with eco fabrics. There is also Pets & Ponds pet shop and Chemist Warehouse, which makes Forest Glen is own little shopping hub.
Forest Glen is also the birthplace of Hugh Sawrey, a famous Australian artist and founder of the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, who was born there in 1919. Sawreys Road has been named in his honour. His art can be viewed at Tiffany Jones Fine Art Gallery just up the hill from Forest Glen in Buderim.
